I would have to say that the best part about Italy is the people.
The hospitality of the Italian people is without rival.
There’s no friendlier place on the planet.

I’m with you on this. It’s like going home. My grandparents are from there and they set up a Little Italy at their house where I spent some of the best days of my childhood: the music, the food, the language. I love every bit of it. Thanks for this.  Trudy Cusella PS McCurry doesn’t sound very Italian.

if there is something of which, as Italians, we feel proud, it is precisely this: beyond all, it is perhaps not just beauty that is the most precious heritage that our history gives us.

It is a relief to know that despite all bad things we hear around, there is still a huge perception of what Italy really is. This helps our hurt and sometimes lost soul. On behalf of the Italians, thank you Steve and all of you.

I agree with all the quotes which describe this magnificent country and its beautiful people who know how to live fully and beautifully. Colors, nature, civilization and culture combination in Italy is a perfect mixture which one can spend the rest of his/her life without looking somewhere else. I absolutely an in love with this beautiful piece of earth. I congratulate Mr. McCurry for bringing these little moments of this country for everyone to see.

I adore Italy for it is the most beautiful of the world everything is an artistic thing there’s beauty everywhere

So close… I must spend time there…your images encapsulate the feelings of warmth and beauty ..people and places.

I loved this and sent the link to my dear friend, Marco, whom I’ve known for more than 46 years! He is from Foligno and has lived there always! He knows my love for Italy and he loves his country, too❣️ (He just doesn’t like the government!)

All of these images are gorgeous, but I especially love the ones in which you capture ordinary moments in people’s lives — and turn them into poetry. THANK YOU for sharing your work here.

Fabulous! So much soul in this, so much presence! Thank you! I have friends who are in Italy at the moment on a writing hiatus, and who’ve been sending me photos of their escapades, and as soon as I saw this I sent them the link. 🙂

Italy is my country. Of course I love it, but these pictures show something that maybe sometimes we miss just because we have them in front of us every day. Congratulations Steve for capturing the real spirit of our country and giving it back to us. I love all your works
