Any amount of waiting for Steve McCurry blog is worth its while. Each photo is worth a thousand words and the accompanying words of wisdom are a bonus!
Mesmerizing, beautiful art. The theme: wise.
Studying your photographs has taught me many things, but among the most important are: 1. Show your audience something they haven’t seen before, or wouldn’t be able to see otherwise, or something familiar in a way they have never seen it. And, 2. Have the ability to see when a great picture COULD happen, and then have the patience to wait until it appears. And then take the shot. #1 is something difficult to achieve, for those of us who live in the west and are not able to travel to ‘exotic’ locations; but #2 is a skill any photographer who aspires to take great pictures can and should cultivate…..it just takes patience.
Many thanks for sharing your pictures and wisdom so freely- John Vigran, Vaihingen an der Enz, Germany.
Thanks, once again, for beauty to start my day.
in composition, patience is the difference between any moment and the exact moment; is what turns any photo into “the photo”
you are big and unique
