The simplest things are overlooked.
And yet, it is the simplest things that are the most essential.

A person who knows who they are, lives a simple life by
eliminating from their orbit anything that does not align with his or
her overriding purpose and values.
A person must be selective with their time and energy
because both elements of life are limited.

The most pleasurable things we do
Are not always priced so high
Like listening to a young child laugh
Or looking at the sky.

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and
sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart
finds its morning and is refreshed.

Sometimes we should express our gratitude for the small and
simple things like the scent of the rain, the taste of your
favorite food, or the sound of a loved one’s voice.

This is such an amazing post! The fact that I saw it this morning is the Universe working its ways. I am super grateful for the feeling captured in these pics. Italy pics, Myanmar, and the runner hit me the most. Good way to start my week. THANKS!

I love these glimpses you’ve given us into other people’s lives and the things that bring them simple pleasure.

I’ve always tried to pause at some point each day (especially when my children were very young) to capture the simple beauty of the moment:
– my little boys driving cars along the pattern in the laminate flooring
– my baby girl’s eyelashes
– the fog that’s rolling in outside my kitchen window
– the bunny hopping across my back lawn, then nibbling my tender garden greens

If I’m not enjoying these simple pleasures, I feel I’m not enjoying life; because life is this moment I’m in right now. 🙂

Steve,
Your posts are a feast for the eye and a balm to the heart.
You fill the well.
Thank you,
Ginnie

Steve, do you set out to photograph a theme or do you go out and take photos of interest and then on reflection and review see the “common denominator “ theme emerge. If the former, from what do your ideas germinate in choosing that theme. Needless to say, the pictures exactly and poignantly drive your theme home.

Your photos always make me happy, even when the motive can somerimes be sad. You .Your eye for photography always change them .

Thank you so much for showing us our “humanity”. In all its magnificence, humbling and frightening glory. Job well done and a lifetime well wrought (Y)

Great post and stunning photos! Love the humor in some of these shots; people’s smiles are shining through, and we feel as if we are sharing these intimate moments with them. Great job.
